This building is located on a historical avenue in Brussels. The street is composed of richly adorned 19th century buildings and has a double alignment of chestnut trees. The façade of the building, an old “hotel de maître”, was intact. The inside, however, had been robbed of all its patrimonial details and, over the decades, transformed into mediocre dull apartments.

The ambition of the client was to gut the building in order to make 3 contemporary apartments that also offered optimal energy efficiency. The “Royal Department of Monuments & Sites” of Brussels were also consulted to ensure a harmonious balance between the preservation of the façade and the refurbished homes
