In the early 1960’s, the Italian government purchased several old town houses and destroyed them to build a new embassy. For over half a century, this building would host administrative and representative functions and was located adjacent to the emblematic park of “Bois de la Cambre”. However, as it was off centered from all the European institutions and with a building that needed a deep technical reform, the Italians decided to finally bid “arrivederci” to this emblematic structure.

The new owners wanted to transform this building into 12 appartements. Because of it’s prestigious location in the city, it was asked to design luminous, elegant and luxurious units. The building had an anti-missile slanted reinforced concrete & steel roof which was finally taken off to offer 2 extra floors of light filled airy units. Plus, each appartement has it’s own balcony, offering the new tenants the possibility to sit outside.
